Here's a bit of theory to think about next time you run...
The diagram above shows the force and lever differences with heel strike vs forefoot strike in running.
Heel strike shortens the lever length meaning less muscular force is required to control the foot in the weight bearing phase. Forefoot strike requires more muscular force to control the foot on landing due to the longer lever length.
Food for thought for next time you run. Find a stride that's a comfortable length that feels effortless and doesn't leave your joints sore or muscles overworked.
